Case Study: Digital Signage

The hospitality industry is fast paced and totally dependent and focused on customer satisfaction and retention. Customers must be kept informed and continually provide further business opportunities like recent promotions, special offers/events and local area activities. For these reasons digital signage as well as digital advertising signage is becoming very popular in this industry to engage customers on a deeper level & provide restaurant patrons with promotional information.
A Birmingham based fast food chain these digital signage systems for front of house digital signage media player campaigns. The hardware selected to run this at first were commercial grade pc’s, this was deemed to be unreliable due to the amount of down time that was experienced resulting in advertising revenue being lost.
Digital Signage System Solution
Liaising with the client identified that they not only required a much more robust hardware system but also a software package that could deliver the high definition content at the front of house. Subcom upgraded all the computer hardware to a more industrial spec delivering the power to run the signage live system. The screens were upgraded to LCD digital signage spec with the client selecting the sleek design of Samsung. The new network is now mainly used to deliver communications and entertainment to customers with the main goal being to entertain customer as well as receiving digital advertising signage revenue as an additional income.
